“Let Your Sanctification Continue”

Mother D. E .Moultrie – Church Mother

June 2015 Meditation and Prayer

God did not save us just to keep us from hell – nor did He save us just to get us to heaven. His top priority while we are here on earth is to shape us into the image of Christ, His Son.

We have the responsibility of “making ourselves,”  “ moldable and teachable.” We must be actively not passively part of the process. God will not do all of the sanctifying. We have a role to play in the process.

When we accepted Christ as Savior we stepped into Spiritual Warfare with satan. The devil knows he has “lost our soul,” but he will try everything to hinder us. He wants to distract us, discourage us, blind us, side tract us and destroy us. The last thing satan wants is a church on fire, or saints, much less young people, who are on “fire” for the Lord and involved in working for Jesus.

We must all abstain not only from sexual sin and immorality but we must not compromise with anything or in anything that is opposed to godliness. (holiness)                                                                                                           Make a commitment with yourself to “Live Holy.”

“For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.”

                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Rom. 8:29

“Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more. 2 For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus. 3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: 4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; 5 Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God: 6 That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified. 7 For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. 8 He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his Holy Spirit.”

                                                                                                                                                                                                                 I Thes. 4:1-8

Prayer for Our Youth and Young Adults

Father in Heaven, we thank you for your love and unwavering mercies which you bestow upon us day after day, week after week and year after year. I come to you on behalf of our youth and young adults. You know the many temptations the “enemy” brings to our young. Satan seeks to charm and deceive our young, he tries to beguile and mislead them. I pray Lord, that You will intercede. Guide our young to godly youth who will share their Christian faith. Give our young adults a Christ like understanding of what is right. Lord, we all need a double portion of Your Grace.

Father in Heaven, please guard our young against the temptation of pride, disobedience and lust of any kind. Give them courage to exercise their faith in You,

courage to live their testimony and courage to follow the”Old Path,” trodden out by those that blazed the trail before them.

Lord, we thank You for our youth and young adults. We pray that our church will be secure in their future charge. Hear us oh Gracious God I pray in

                                                                                                                   Jesus’ Name
